Judith Q. Bielan, Esq.

Judith Q. Bielan, Esq. is a partner in the law firm of Bielan, Miklos & Makrogiannis P.C. She was admitted to the New Jersey Bar in 1989 and the New York Bar in 1990. She is a matrimonial attorney and received the Hudson County Family Lawer of the Year Award in 2005. Ms. Bielan started her career as an associate with the law firm of Schumann, Hanlon, O’Connor and McCrossin from 1989 to 1993. Since then, she has owned her own firm. In her present firm of Bielan, Miklos, & Makrogiannis, P.C. she continues to handle all aspects of litigation in real estate, family law, contract disputes and estate matters.

She served as President of the Hudson County Bar Association in 2010. She currently serves as a member of the New Jersey State Bar Legislative Committee. She serves on the Hudson County Bar Association’s Family Law and Early Settlement Panelist Committees. Previously, she served on the Hudson County Fee Arbitration Committee, and is periodically appointed by the Court to serve as a Condemnation Commissioner, and as a court-appointed attorney in guardianship matters.

Ms. Bielan is a co-founder and director of BCB Community Bank which opened in 2000.

Ms. Bielan has volunteered and served the New Jersey and Hudson County communities over three decades. She has served as a Trustee on the Board of Women Rising, and on the Bayonne Economic Opportunity Foundation. Throughout the years, she coached both boys’ and girls’ basketball teams at the Bayonne PAL and in 2014 was inducted into the PAL Hall of Fame. She is a former Vice Chair of the Board of Trustees of Holy Family Academy of Bayonne. She holds a B.A. from Montclair State College and a juris doctorate from Seton Hall University School of Law.

She received her J.D. (law degree) from Seton Hall University of Law, upon her graduation she was Law Clerk to the late Honorable Stephen J. Schaeffer, who was the Presiding Judge of Family Law for Hudson County.

Sotiria Makrogiannis is a partner in the law firm of Bielan, Miklos & Makrogiannis, P.C.  Ms. Makrogiannis has been selected by her peers in 2015, 2016, and 2017 as Super Lawyer’s Rising Star. She also received the Family Lawyer of the Year Award from the Hudson County Bar Association in 2015.
